I would wish to introduce this article by articulating that I will approach the use of a protein supplement from a different point of view than the ussual: “let’s make a lot of muscle mass”. While bodybuilders are clearly accountable for the introduction of protein supplements into mainstream employment they have applied it for a single minded purpose. I am here to point out some different things you might not acknowledge.

First off I would like you to see that the basic cause a protein supplement is so good at making muscle is that it  promotes good health. Think of it this way, muscle is a highly metabolically active tissue which has a lot of expenditure attached  to its existence. Basically this means that you have to be at least marginally healthy to put on any kind of muscle. Think about  the last time you were sick, were you able to work out? What if you had a low level of health, do you believe you would be able to  pack on as much muscle as the healthier guys.

A rapid elucidation, I don’t think body builders are healthy. I think that some of the practices that go on in proffesional  body building are not healthy and they do not produce heathy individuals. That being enunciated a quality protein supplement has many  facets that can benefit your health.

Let’s jump into some facts:

*metabolism (is fostered through many paths, from hormone modulation, to neurotransmiter buildup and even through the fact that protein is tougher to digest and therefore requires of your metabolism to step-up its yield of energy)
*arouses satiation (protein it is the most hunger quenching nutrient)
*improving insulin sensitivity (this is simply because neither fat, nor protein causes the release of insulin – except in very little quantities)
*it can aid you get trim by increasing the calorie percent of your diet that is derived from protein

After reading material about protein for so many years I have grown to be sure that a quality protein supplement employed everyday for the  purpose of raising your protein intake is a great way to ramp up your health.

Please let me restate one important benefit of protein comsumption: hormone and metabolism benefits translate into beneficial events throughout your body.

In a nutshell

A higher protein intake makes it simpler for your body to make and keep lean tissue mass (muscle). This reduces your blood  pressure, makes living life more easy (no huffing and puffing when going up the stairs or lifting things), supports weight loss, increases your metabolic rate, redues insulin resistance and betters your sense of well being.

It also makes you look good. Imagine healthy looking skin, a trim body, a bright face and a smile for everyone (hey, if you’re  feeling good you do feel like smiling).

Protein also makes your nervous system work more efficiently. It causes this by helping you construct neurotransmiters and hormones.  Hormones such as human growth hormone increase bone density, muscle masss, metabolism and even affects psychological factors.

To recapitulate, this article has discussed some of the other improvements that high quality protein and a protein supplement can bring to your life.

Who Will Qualify For Euro 2012 From Group G?

Every team will be desperate to qualify for the UEFA Euro 2012 Championships. There are nine groups in total. The nine group winners will qualify for the tournament along with the best runner-up. The other 8 runners-up are drawn into two-legged playoffs. 

One of the main groups of interest in Group G which contains England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales and Montenegro. England will be the favourites to win the group. But having said that, they did miss qualification for the last tournament. 

The main competition will come from Switzerland and Bulgaria. Switzerland have qualified for three of the last four European Championships but not once have they made it past the opening round. They were co-hosts of the last tournament along with Austria. They are a solid team without being anything special.  

Bulgaria have only qualified for the tournament twice, the last of which was in 2004. They have never made it to the knock out rounds. They used to be a regular at the World Cup attending every one from 1962 to 1974 and then in 1986 and 1994 where it finished fourth. It hasn’t been back since 1998. 

Its big name players are Stiliyan Petrov who plays for Aston Villa and Dimitar Berbatov who plays for Manchester United.  

Wales only previous experience with this tournament was in 1976 and that was when it using a completely different format. Wales were one of the eight group winners who were drawn into a two legged play-off, the winners of which qualified for the finals in Yugoslavia. They were the team that beat Wales in the playoffs. This was the last time Wales appeared in the finals of a major tournament. 

Montenegro is only three years old. It used to be part of Yugoslavia and then Serbia and Montenegro. They will struggle to do well in the Euro 2012 Group G.

When it comes to coaching high school soccer, the first step towards success is the confidence building amongst players who have the potential to become brilliant players. As a coach, when you declare that your players are under pressure, you are really identifying in them a lack of confidence to deal with a situation. This is simply because success is the outcome of being confident of achieving it.

Confidence is a choice and your players have to first choose to become confident. In coaching youth soccer, use the behaviors of two parrots perched on either shoulders to demonstrate this point.

Out of the two, one has a positive behavior and he keeps telling the player to face the challenges head on by saying “You can do it.” The other is the negative parrot, constantly warning the player “You can’t do this.” Without a doubt, it’s the player who has to choose which parrot to take note of.

After they’ve made a choice, train them to take the accountability for their acts. This choice may have to made every single day. Develop successful players in your team by helping them build strong inner confidence by focusing on their contribution to success or failure.

Coaching Youth Soccer

Train the players of the fact that in soccer coaching that putting the blame on something or someone else is a mark of insecurity. In fact they should be taught to see setbacks as a part of the learning curve and not let it shake their confidence.

Likewise in coaching high school soccer, it’s imperative to teach the players to repeat the phrase “I’ll get the next one” whenever they miss out on any opportunity.
This instantly ensures that the distress of the miss has not affected the confidence for the next strike.

In a team, caliber, mental strength and judgments regarding a player’s ability to survive the demands of competition, hold the key for its success. While football coaching, it is relatively easier to judge physical readiness than judging mental readiness.

To facilitate this type of judgment, look for clear messages. Look for both verbal and non verbal messages that the player is sure of his or her ability to succeed in the game.

Confidence is the fruit of success. Success in Soccer comes with the belief in yourself that you are well equipped and ready for every situation that may build pressure. In order to make the players emotionally power-packed, a phrase “If you are not preparing to win, you are preparing to fail”, is frequently used.

Confidence is built on experience. The reservations, mistakes, losses and denunciation should be taken up calmly by the players so that their underpinning of experience can be built. It is the feeling that he or she has the knowledge, has been there before, and knows what to look forward to.

Speaking of coaching high school soccer, the outlook and behavior of the coach are the most important influences affecting a player’s performance. Coaches cannot expect to have a mentally tough team unless they plan a program that emphasizes and reinforces positive winning attitude.

The coach plays an influential and a key authority figure in the player’s career. The body language, attitude, and expressions of the coach can shape, reinforce, or damage the players self esteem and confidence.

In relation to coaching youth soccer, mental strength is about meeting the challenges with a positive attitude. So, it is the coach who should be the starting point in practice and competition both.

The coach will find that a disciplined post-match routine is helpful in ensuring that he or she does not get either too high or too low. A competent coach will draw on ideas, narrative, and symbols, videos, and like that to shape the collective outlook of the team and ready them to be mentally strong on the playing field.

Coaching Youth Soccer

A coach should display control in football coaching, when dealing with emotional setbacks notwithstanding personal feelings, with a view to create a mentally strong team.

Only when the coach shows a firm belief in the team’s capability to accomplish in spite of the problems, the team will have an outline for developing the same mind-set and feel motivated.

In coaching high school soccer, handling mistakes and failure is another important area of responsibility for the coach. One of the keys to a player’s motivation and the wish to work towards correcting mistakes is the coach’s response to failure. There are two choices available to the coach.

To give a response to the players in order to improve them, their failures can be used as an opportunity to correct them. Persuade them to recommit themselves to the effort with renewed motivation.

The player’s dearth and attestation that he cannot meet the expectations can be used as an evidence of failure. Players will get de-motivated because of this emotional overreaction.

One way that players become mentally tough is by accepting responsibility for their thoughts, feelings, and actions and rejecting all possible excuses. During the course of soccer coaching, coaches can help by questioning and listening rather than always tell the players what they did wrong. The players should be encouraged to talk about their better performance which they could deliver.

Such an exercise is called self-reference. The coach can encourage the players by encouraging the players to self reference. Instead of giving the players a definition of the situation, the coach can ask the player his or her reactions. In order to explain, we can take the instance “How do you feel you played?” or “Why do you feel you behaved that way?”

This way the players must think through and account for his or her reactions which are a vital part of the learning process.

Coaching Soccer Drills: How To Coach Effectively

In coaching soccer drills, there are certain training tips that I’d like to share with you before you initiate your training program even if you have been doing this for quite a long time. Let’s say that the soccer practice has one broad goal for both the coach and the player and it is to have fun while participating in the practice sessions.

At this point, it’s important to stay alert or else you’ll get distracted by other things. I therefore recommend that you decide on more specific objectives for yourself and your soccer team. For example; develop a sense of team spirit and a sporting attitude in your players, help them identify their individual soccer skills, and emphasize on improving their physical fitness.

It is your duty to set reasonably high standards for players in relation to sportsmanship. Encourage attitudes like fair play, team spirit, and sportsmanship. When teaching soccer, you have the option to include any number of relevant objectives along with the ones stated above.

In coaching youth soccer, winning is also an important concept that should be paid due attention. Infuse an open concept of winning in your player’s minds when you are coaching them. Teach them that as long as their performance is out of ordinary on the field, they are winners, no matter what the final result.

Soccer Coaching

The players as a result will feel totally relaxed but much more responsible to play the game sensibly with the team’s objectives in their mind.

It’s important that your instructions during coaching soccer drills are to the point and exact for players to fetch expected results. There are some clear dos and don’ts in soccer on which the players must be taught before you go ahead with your coaching sessions. The difference in coaching and teaching is that the former is done with a group of players who are already familiar with the basic skills and concepts of the game.

In the process of coaching drills, it is nice to first impart 5 to 6 demonstrations about a drill to the kids and then let them practice it themselves. It is due to the fact that kids grasp visualizations more effectively than simple instructions. If you attempt to explain an action in words, they won’t understand it. Rather they are pretty good at imitation.

Hence, make it an imperative exercise to give a demonstration at every possible opportunity.

Lastly, but still no less in importance is to keep the kids engaged in meaningful activities. This is all the more important when it rains or the weather is extremely cold. It’s a fact that all kids love to play in the rain. Hence, instead of simply cancelling the session, it makes more sense to have them play soccer games or something like that.

Just make sure that in a situation like this, your kids have an extra layer of clothing and proper footwear.
