Where Will Italy Look For The Next World Cup?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Italian Marcelo Lippi has faced a number of soccer pundit jokes this season due to the age of his team.  The team is very likely to be fairly new by the Brazilian World Cup, when athletes such as 32 year-old Gianluigi Buffon, 36 year-old Fabio Cannavaro, 32 year-old Gennaro Gattuso, and other players like Andrea Pirlo (31), Gianluca Zambrotta (33), Vincenzo Iaquinta (30), Mauro Camoranesi (33), and Antonio Di Natale (32) are sure to be gone from the team.  Who will Lippi or his successor choose to replace the team?

Lorenzo De Silvestri    Defender     (Fiorentina)    Aged 22
De Silvestri, a former full back for Lazio, is slightly over six feet tall.  Since his move to Fiorentina in 2009, De Silvestri has rediscovered his best form that saw him represent Italy at every age range from Under 16 through to the U21 side. With such a solid basis in the skills necessary to become a good fullback, De Silvestri might end up replacing Gianluca Zambrotta for the national team.

Davide Santon        Defender    (Inter)        Aged 19
Able to play down either flank, Santon is a hugely talented young defender who made 28 appearances for Inter this season as well as five appearances already for the Azzuri. The tireless Santon can run the flanks for the entire ninety minutes and has even been compared to Paolo Maldini by coach Marcelo Lippi. Thanks to his sound technical skills, and omitting the risk of injury, Santon should be joining the next few major finals Italian squads.

Mario Balotelli        (Striker)    (Inter)        Aged 19
Although Mario Balotelli can be quick to anger and temperamental, his skill as an attack and winger has given Italy hope for a strong squad when he starts wearing the Italy soccer apparel.  We may have to forgive Batelli for his disgruntled outbursts at fans and management: in 59 games, he scored twenty goals and notched 6 in 16 for the Italian U21 team. His time will surely come in the Euro 2012 qualifiers when Italy are going to need a new look strike force.

Federico Macheda    (Striker)    (Man Utd)    Aged 18
Although he has yet to make the first team on a regular basis at Old Trafford, the signs are promising that Manchester United’s talented striker could have a big 2010-2011 season and perhaps even force his way into the thoughts of the Azzuri management team. Macheda’s strength as a striker coupled with his intelligence gives him a boost in scoring goals. Particularly good with his back to goal, he has already been capped at U21 level for Italy and if he can start to make a bigger impact in the United first team, full honours should soon follow.

Antonio Candreva    (Midfielder)    Udinese    Aged 23
Candreva just may be the only replacement for Italy’s great Andrea Pirlo. The Udinese midfielder follows in the footsteps of Pirlo’s creative play, owning any position on the midfield.

Missed A World Cup Game? Check Out The Internet

Spain vs Germany 2010

During last nights semi final game featuring the current european champions Spain vs Germany who have just got better throughout the tournament, I decided to watch this imprtant game with my spanish relative who was not only excited about the game but who clearly thought he was actually there in the South Africa amongst the crowd.

During the half time break I couldn’t help but notice how many tv adverts have got behind marketing the World Cup, and how they have used internet as a key tool for fans throughout the world, offering services such match replays, up to date facts and figures of the tournament so far. I even joined an online forum to discuss my own views and who I thought would win the competition.

The world cup in South Africa has been such a hit and boost for the countries economy, especially due to the large increase in tourism during the football.

So many online business have made a success throughout the time of the World Cup in South Africa, not only through travel and football merchandise but common accessories such as those noisy trumpets they call a vuvuzela which i saw for sale in my village shop, i didnt buy one as i intend on keeping my friends!

If you are lucky enough to visit Durban I recommend you visit the newly-built Moses Mabhida football stadium, as this was one of the most impressive i saw on tv during the World Cup. My friend was visiting his parents and got to seesaw Spain play there first game against Switzerland which they were to get defeated there..

Talking to a friend after the match who works for a company who specialise in Ecommerce website design he was sure that the Netherlands were going to win the final.

Some of the football sites also have some fantastic web design too!

World Cup Not At Home

Monday, June 28th, 2010

The next month is going to be an empty one when it comes to the office as people actually do not bother going into their work because of the football matches, this is of course going to cause many companies a lot of problems.

Ill Or Not?

The worst thing about all of this is that you cannot simply have a moan at someone for being off when the football is because you don’t actually know that they weren’t ill and this is a great problem because if you are wrong and accuse them it can cause serious problems. If someone was actually ill and you go out to fire them or discipline them over something then it is going to cost you a lot and you do not want this to happen at all.

If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them

The alternative is not actually a bad one at all and all you need to do is actually put a television into the office and let it go in the background when the most important matches are on. Most of the matches that are occurring this year are in the evening which means it should not be too bad on the business. If you do this for them then you are likely to see a lot of gratitude in return.

Losing Out

By not coming to compromises when it comes to the World Cup a  office to rent could hit disaster because of the fact that people are going to be hungover, off “sick” and not interested in work at all. If you fire all of these people it could take far longer to rehire and train new recruits.

So there you have it, whether it isserviced offices Soho or Serviced Offices Paddington it doesn’t matter this World Cup.

In the end it up to management on what happens during this World Cup year, what will your company do?

Vuvuzela Antidotes For The World Cup

Friday, June 18th, 2010

You’ve all heard them by now, even if you don’t know what the correct name is, but what if you could block the annoying sound emanating from your TV set this last week or so? You know the noise i’m talking about! It’s like watching the ‘Attack of the Killer Bees’ in glorious widerscreen with full surround sound. Frankly, whilst I respect African tradition, the Vuvuzela plain sucks.

So let’s have a look at some antidotes in the form of a few early Christmas gift ideas, because if we don’t there’s going to be people all over the World still hearing that buzzing in six months time.

If you’re looking for a practical, but unusual Christmas present, then look no further than the iLogic Sound Hat available in classy black, white or pink. What’s unique about this hats is that they can keep your ears and head warm in the winter, whilst plugging into your iPod and delivering superb sound quality.

If hats aren’t your thing, then try out the perfect present for him (or her) wih the awesome Zaggbug noise cancelling headphones. Not only will these headphones protect your ears from Vuvuzela’s, plug them into your iPhone and they’ll detect an incoming call, and let you answer it, have the conversation and hang up, all without having to unplug your headphones!

Finally, if you’re after something a little more drastic, you could cover the noise with a Flying Animal. The monkey yodels, the pig ‘oinks’ and the rooster crows in flight and when it hits your chosen target. There’s another upside to chucking these animals around the house. They’re designed only to be used by those aged 12 and above, so if you have children younger than that age, you can happily inform them it’s illegal for them to throw the animals back at you. They pretty much believe anything you say to them at that age, poor kids. Even that England are going to win the football World Cup!
